Be Part of Afton's Community Mosaic Mural

 

This mural belongs to the community, and we want the community to help create it.

​

We're inviting individuals, families, businesses, schools, church groups, clubs, and organizations to paint a tile that will become part of a permanent 8-foot by 20-foot mosaic mural on the north side of the Afton Town Hall.

​

No artistic experience is necessary. Every participant receives a numbered tile and easy-to-follow instructions. When all of the individually painted tiles are assembled, they'll create one incredible work of art that celebrates our community for generations to come. We hope to install the completed mural in July 2027.

​

To encourage as many community members as possible to participate, each individual may initially reserve one tile. If additional tiles remain available, participants will be invited to paint more.

Community Paint Days

Join us at one of our three Community Paint Days! We'll provide everything you need to paint your tile, and volunteers will be available to answer questions and help you get started. It's a fun opportunity to create alongside friends, neighbors, and fellow community members.

November 14th - 10:00am-6:00pm - Afton Civic Center

​

January 9th - 10:00am-6:00pm - Thayne Community Center

​

March 13th - 10:00am-6:00pm - Alpine Civic Center

Take-Home Tile Kits

Can't make it to a Community Paint Day? No problem! You can check out a Take-Home Tile Kit and complete your tile whenever it's convenient for you.

​

A $10 refundable deposit is required for each take-home kit. Your deposit will be fully refunded when your completed tile is returned by the deadline. If you'd like to further support the project, you're welcome to donate your refunded deposit to help with mural costs.

​

Each kit includes everything you need to complete your tile, along with simple step-by-step instructions.

Your tile may be just one small piece, but together thousands of tiles will create a mural that reflects the pride, creativity, and spirit of our community.

Kits can be picked up and returned between 10:30am-11:00am in the Star Valley Arts Council Office - Afton Civic Center - 150 S Washington Street, on the following days:

Take-home tile kits should be completed and returned within two months of pickup. ALL TILES MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED BY JUNE 7TH, 2027.
