Assistant to the Executive Director (Part-Time, Hybrid)
Location: Hybrid (Remote with required in-person attendance at events and meetings)
Compensation: $15-$20 per hour
Hours: Flexible, 0–30 hours per week (varies based on organizational needs and grant cycles)
About Us
We are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated Assistant to the Executive Director to support the operations, programming, and growth of our organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of behind-the-scenes work and community-facing engagement.
Position Overview
The Assistant to the Executive Director works closely with the Executive Director to support administrative, fundraising, and programmatic efforts. While much of the work can be done remotely, this position is not fully remote and requires regular in-person participation in organizational events and meetings.
Schedule & Attendance Expectations

Flexible weekly hours, ranging from 0–30 hours per week

Required attendance at approximately 20 in-person events per year

Required attendance at monthly board meetings (The first Wednesday of each month, 9:00am at the Afton Civic Center)

Hours will increase during event planning, grant cycles, and major initiatives
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Grant writing and identifying new grant funding opportunities

Writing and submitting final grant reports

Tracking grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance

Assisting with planning, coordinating, and executing events

Leading and supporting events as needed

Website maintenance and content updates

Fundraising support and donor communications
-
Community outreach and relationship building
-
Program development support

Creating, scheduling, and sending newsletters
-
Advertising and promotion across digital and print platforms

General administrative and organizational support for the Executive Director
Qualifications

Strong written communication skills (grant writing experience preferred)

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities

Comfortable working independently in a hybrid work environment

Willingness and availability to attend in-person events and meetings

Experience with nonprofit work, arts organizations, or community-based programs is a plus

Familiarity with websites, email marketing platforms, and basic digital tools preferred
