WHO is this for? Children ages 6-16. All are welcome!

COST to participate is FREE thanks to a generous grant provided by the Wyoming Community Foundation. Tickets for the performances will cost $8 per person.

AUDITIONS will be held Wednesday, June 1st at the Ford Theatre in Afton from 9:00am to 11:00am. Come any time during that window. There will be a sign up sheet and we will observe children in order of the sign ups.

Children should come prepared with a 1 minute song and a short, memorized nursery rhyme. There will be a piano available, but no pianist. Cast list will be available on the Star Valley Arts Council website, and we will email it out to parents on Wednesday evening. Please contact us immediately if your child will not be accepting their position.

REHEARSALS will run from Friday, June 3rd until the dress rehearsal Thursday, June 23rd. All rehearsals will be held at the Ford Theatre in Afton. We will provide a detailed rehearsal schedule. This will include a list of which characters need to come to which rehearsal.

RULES are included below and on the Moana Jr. Participation Contract. Children must be able to follow the rules in order for the camp to be a safe environment and for the performances to succeed. Please read through the rules with your child and help them understand the importance of keeping them. We will contact you about a solution if your child is having a difficult time with this.

  1. Children will be on time for rehearsal and picked up promptly after
  2. Listen quietly when a director speaks
  3. Keep their hands to themselves
  4. No gum, candy or sugary drinks at rehearsals
  5. No running or playing crazy
  6. Respect others. This includes no name-calling or put downs
  7. Respect the Theatre space including stage, costumes, props, set, auditorium and restrooms.

CAST parts will be given based on the child’s audition. Please help your children to understand that their participation in this play is valuable, even if they are a member of the ensemble chorus, ALL parts matter.  This is a great opportunity for everyone involved. As such, the directors will do their best to provide a positive experience for your children.
